An important step in recovery and staying clean and sober is the ability to function in real world situations outside of a treatment center as well as enjoy life, social activities, family and friendships. It is important to experience social situations and how to deal or respond to them. Play and work with others in recovery helps develop these skills. Taking care of your physical health is also important as it helps your body recover and heal as well as your mental and emotional state. So in addition to offering an array of holistic and medical services, we also offer clients the opportunity to enjoy recreational, social and physical activities. We even offer the opportunity to work with a personal trainer five days per week.
To help with the orientation process, all new clients attend a “New Client Welcome BBQ at Pure Thoughts at Turtle Creek”, home to our Equine Program on the first Saturday after their date of admission. At this fun event, clients play outdoor games such as horseshoes and volleyball; go fishing; and enjoy dinner from the grill with pulled-pork or chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers and more.
Activities are planned and executed by the The Rehab Center Operations staff. Frequently we divide our population into smaller age- and gender-specific micro-communities. For example, on a Saturday afternoon we may take all the Young Adult men to an amusement park, the Adult men to see a movie, all women, a trip to a salon, and then offer all the men a trip to one beach and all the women a trip to another beach. But we also value the positive elements of assembling the entire community, and we offer those activities as well.
We offer a host of recreational activities that help foster what we’ve dubbed “food and fellowship,” both on-site and off-site. With so many offerings to choose from we ensure that all clients find something they’re comfortable participating in.
