12-Step Programs

Transformations Treatment Center is dedicated to providing personalized and holistic support to individuals facing substance abuse and mental health challenges. Our comprehensive approach to aftercare treatment includes 12-step programs aimed at providing encouragement and resources for recovery journeys. These peer-support groups provide the structure and care that recovering individuals often need to remain committed to improving their lives while offering a channel for giving back to the community.

What is a 12-Step Program?

A twelve-step program is a non-profit group-based approach to substance abuse and mental health recovery. Participants in a 12-step program can gain moral support and practical follow-up strategies in the company of peers with similar experiences. These regular sessions provide each participant a mutually fulfilling opportunity to share valuable takeaways with other attendees.

Explore Our 12-Step Programs

Transformations Treatment Center offers a serene, supportive, and medically equipped environment where various groups can gather and discuss their recovery plans. Our 12-step programs currently include:

Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is the original 12-step group established in 1935 and continues to support individuals facing the challenges of alcohol abuse. Regular AA meetings provide participants with the strategic steps, progression tracking, and moral support in living a life of sobriety.

Al-Anon/Alateen

These 12-step programs involve participants whose lives were affected by a loved one’s drinking habits. The group aims to provide relatable experiences in coping with the consequences of drinking and how loved ones can work together to improve the quality of life. Alateen is a specialized offshoot of the Al-Anon group that focuses on the experiences of teenagers affected by the drinking problems of loved ones.

Narcotics Anonymous

Narcotics Anonymous (NA) guides group participants toward the path of recovery from drug abuse. Participants help each other by providing moral support and staying drug-free by following established principles. Narcotics Anonymous offers support for various substance use disorders (SUDs), including cocaine, meth, and fentanyl.

Nar-Anon

The formation of Nar-Anon ensured that loved ones of those facing addiction always had somewhere to turn. The principles of the organization, although very similar to those in NA, are entirely focused on helping those who experience difficulties because of others’ addictions. “The only requirement to be a member and attend Nar-Anon meetings is that there is a problem of drugs or addiction in a relative or friend.”

Cocaine Anonymous

Cocaine Anonymous (CA) provides peer-led support in recovering from cocaine abuse and other similarly mind-altering substances. The group’s regular meetings offer a safe and welcoming space for fellow attendees to share their problems and discover the most suitable coping techniques.

Things to Consider Before Joining a 12-Step Group

The following measures can help first-time participants maximize their 12-step group experience through mental preparedness and added comfort.

Familiarize yourself with the Group and Sessions

Learning about a group’s mission, principles, and session structure helps you prepare and fit in comfortably from the first meeting.

Research on the 12 Steps

Each group offers 12 steps toward recovery. Gaining a general idea of the steps in a group sets a clearer expectation for the journey.

Consider The Type of Meeting

Participants must consider their comfort level before joining a session to achieve the best outcomes. Individuals looking for extra emotional support may find open meeting sessions beneficial, as these sessions allow the inclusion of loved ones. When in doubt, you should contact a group representative to learn more about the steps and processes before starting a session. Addressing concerns before the first meeting is recommended for a smooth and meaningful experience.
