I’ve been asked many times, “What makes Transformations Treatment Center unique?” And right off the bat, I can think of several ways that we stand apart from other treatment centers:

  • Small client to therapist ratio
  • Option for gender specific groups as well as Veterans/First Responders program
  • A large over 30s community
  • A music track that emphasizes creativity
  • A highly trained clinical team who work together to provide clients with individualized treatment

I empower my clinical team to create their own curriculum illustrating their passions which helps to trickle down passion of life to the clients.

We try to assist clients in finding things in life to stay sober for, passions, career goals, family, strengths.

Being in recovery myself, I believe that addiction can be managed and love working with addicts and alcoholics in identifying strengths and assisting them in developing their new sense of self without the use of mood altering substances.  I highlight the difference between the feeling of getting sober versus the feeling of maintaining sobriety and creating a life worth staying sober for.  Most addicts and alcoholics in early recovery don’t know the difference and cannot see past their depression and underlying issues.

I really try to empower them to see beyond the darkness and find light again. I allow myself to remain teachable and learn from our clients every day… they are survivors and I continually am in awe of their resilience in fighting this incurable disease that breaks the hearts of family members every hour of every day.  I love coming to work every day not knowing what I will learn or how I will grow aside such powerful individuals who we call “our clients”.  Like many of our clients I recommit myself to helping people who struggle with addiction every morning and then again and again throughout the day when faced with challenging situations that may seem hopeless to many. I will never give up the fight.

Family involvement is also very important, not only to our clinical staff, but to each and every client, as addiction is in fact, a family disease. Additionally, the stigma attached to addiction is extremely negative and my team treats individuals who struggle with this disease with the dignity and respect they deserve. They are coming into treatment asking for help and there is nothing more courageous than that.
