The strength to persevere in the face of danger and fear

In fact, it’s a noun, but it acts like a verb

It’s an action word

The courage to change the things I can; to take a stand

To be a man, to lend a helping hand; abandon my wasteland

Change may take action and action may take work

But what is our sanity actually worth?

What kind of legacy are we leaving on earth?

Everybody’s got something to say

Everybody replays the clichés

But our lip service is worthless it’s a dozen a dime

It’s our actions that echo in the halls of time

So I’m courageously changing my ways

My cravings have faded away

I’m behaving like I’m here to stay

And just for today, my foot’s outta the grave

I’m no longer a slave to my vice

I’m craving advice

I’m making the effort, attempting to reconcile my past

I’ve revived my inner child and smiled at last

The courage to change means turning the page

No longer the same, no one left to blame

See, in the end, even when we have plenty of serenity, our true identity emerges from the courage to change our ways.
